TBE #018: How Doing Something Different Changes you

In this week’s episode of The Balanced Educator Podcast, we discuss how changing up our routines can help us to gain a new perspective.

We talk about simple things we can do in our lives to get out of our regular routines and begin to see our lives from a new vantage point.

We discuss how travel has been such a huge influence on us and has helped open up our minds to new ways of seeing the world. This has allowed us to intentionally choose new ways of being in our lives that felt good.

We talk about the transformative experience of doing a yoga teacher training and how it changed our lives.

Ever since we started Educalme, we’ve wanted to offer yoga, meditation and mindfulness travel experiences so that we could create the conditions for others to experience transformation like we did. We are so excited to have partnered with Solstice Travel to bring you the following yoga and wellness travel opportunities this year.

November 30 to December 9, 2018 – Iconic Costa Rica Yoga and Adventure

You will enjoy a daily yoga and meditation practice that will deepen your mind-body connection and encourage you to experience each day more fully as you learn to embody presence and awareness. You will also deepen your practice with an adventurous yoga workshop that will allow you to explore your limits as you experiment with new postures. You will learn how to take the essence of this transformative trip home with you in a workshop on mindfulness and developing a daily practice that will foster continued growth and expansion.  

March 23 to 30, 2018 – Spring Break Teachers: Unplug, Unwind, Recharge (Riviera Maya)

As teachers, we tend to give our everything to our families and our students and teeter on the verge of burnout. We believe that in order to serve others, we must first care for ourselves! This trip is all about prioritizing your needs and then learning how to continue your self-care practices during the school year.

You will enjoy a daily yoga and meditation practice that will deepen your mind-body connection and encourage you to experience each day more fully as you learn to embody presence and awareness. You will learn how to take the essence of this transformative trip home with you in a workshop on mindfulness and developing a daily practice. This will foster continued growth and expansion and fuel you so that you can be your best for yourself and others. You will also learn how to bring mindfulness into your classroom and your daily interactions with your students with our Kickstarting Mindfulness in the Classroom workshop so that when you go back to work, you and your kiddos will have concrete tools and strategies to mindfully cope with stress and overwhelm. This spring break, unplug, unwind and recharge with like-minded educators. Set yourself up for a calm and successful end of the school year!

April 17 to 24 – Belize: Women and the Sea (Placencia)

You will enjoy a daily yoga and meditation practice that will deepen your mind-body connection and encourage you to experience each day more fully as you learn to embody presence and awareness. You will experience introspective classes that will include yin yoga, meditation, journaling and self-reflection. You will learn how to take the essence of this transformative trip home with you in a workshop on mindfulness and developing a daily practice that will foster continued growth and expansion.

We are offering a free event on June 4th, 2018 at 7 pm at CEDM, 614 Des Meurons St, Winnipeg, MB. We will be leading you through a guided meditation practice and we will be sharing information about these three trips.
